D&D at the QCC 2018

Hey Folks. Time to reveal some of the D&D offerings we have this year at the QCC.

First off we have The Red War epic lined up to happen on Saturday Afternoon. That’s right. Another epic and a dozy. Here’s the description:

DDEP 00-01 The Red War – D&D AL Epic: The Cults of Elemental Evil brought incredible destruction down on the city of Mulmaster. In its hour of need, Mulmaster received aid from an unlikely source – the Mageocracy of Thay, ruled by the lich Szazz Tam. With Mulmaster moving ever closer to Thay’s orbit and strife brewing within the Factions for action, the hour is ripe for conflict. A four-hour Epic adventure for characters level 1-20.

You can secure your spot for the epic through the kickstarter via the Epic Level. The Red War

On top of that we will have season 8 premier content. We’re not sure what that content will be because we’re not sure what season 8 is, but we know we’ll be running tables of it at the QCC 2018.

Last, and by no means least, we have AL Admin Lysa Chen joining us this year if you didn’t hear. She’ll be running some games and will be on a panel. Probably something having to do with building your community around D&D

If you love D&D and want to play AL content all weekend, or just for a few slots, the Queen City Conquest is the place to do it. The passes won’t be cheaper than they are right now so get them through the kickstarter.

QCC2018 Special Guest: Eloy Lasanta

Eloy Lasanta is the head of 3rd Eye Games which publishes Part-Time Gods, Ninja Crusade, The Pip System, Apocalypse Prevention Inc, Sins of the Father, the AMP superhero series of games, and Storm Battalion. His games range from Kid friendly to story games to much more traditional games.

Kickoff Party at Collectors Inn & D&D Epic at Heart of the Game

Hello Folks. It’s coming up on that time of year again. We’ve been gearing up for the Queen City Conquests 2018 kickstarter. Here are the details

The event will focus more on Board & Card games and non-D&D RPGs to go along with the Kickstarter launch. The reason for this is there is an Epic being run at Heart of the Game that same day and they’re raising money for charity. If you’re a D&D AL player we hope you go over to Heart of the Game and get your epic on for a good cause.  Here are some of the details:

  • Mulmaster Undone: Retired season 2 Epic.
  • Aaron Place is organizing the event.
  • This will be a charity event, benefits paid to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
  • Fai Chen’s will be in attendance.
  • There will be no entry fee but Aaron is asking a 5$ donation per person in attendance for the charity.
  • Here’s the Epic event page.

So that’s what’s coming up from the QCC next. We’ll be back when we have more information for you about the launch party and other news related to the QCC.

Games to play at the QCC #3. Sunday Morning

There’s always going to be more games to play at the QCC. Let’s see what you might want to play on Sunday Morning

The Big Pie Caper (9 AM)

Guest Jennifer Adcock is bringing her Costume Fairy Adventures game for those young and young of heart.  Here’s the description of the game:

There’s nothing that fairies love more than mischief. Well, almost nothing. When several villagers ask for help from the notoriously mercurial fae folk, right in the middle of their annual pie festival, things are bound to get a little bit… messy. After all, it wouldn’t be any fun if there weren’t a few surprises. Eat the most pie, cause the most chaos, and of course, wear the coolest costumes to gain their powers.

If you’re interested in this game you can get your ticket here: The Big Pie Caper

Hotel 96 (10 AM)

Mike is running some Savage Worlds on Sunday morning and Hotel 96 seems to have a very Hotel California vibe to it. Check out the description:

Hotel 96 is waiting for you. It promises fine music, great food, and a release of the soul … but it has a burning desire to make you stay for good! Burn off a little steam … but you do need to get back to Pinebox and ETU (East Texas University), as you have classes on Monday.
Note: Should take about 4 hours, but allows for a lunch break.

If you’re interested in this game you can get your ticket here: Hotel 96 (ETU)

Zaya’s Promise (11 AM)

Our only game on the schedule starting at 11 AM is Zaya’s Promise. It’s run by special guest Stacy Dellorfano and uses the Swords & Wizardry system. Here’s the description of the event:

Long ago, a whole town and the valley it inhabited disappeared. Rumors persist that the town was swallowed up by a sea of brambles & the valley made uninhabitable. Dare you seek what lies inside?
Run by the creator! Zaya’s Promise was published by Frog God Games for the Swords & Wizardry 3rd printing. The adventure features a constantly shifting dungeon that plays differently every time in a fun house wonderland dungeon that’s just as deadly as it is fascinating.

If you’re interested in this game you can get your ticket here: Zaya\’s Promise

Five Tribes with the Expansion (Noon)

Angela Bullied is bringing out some Five Tribes, an excellent worker displacement board game from Days of Wonder. Here’s the description:

Five Tribes builds on a long tradition of German games with wooden Meeples in a unique twist on the Worker Placement game genre. While the rules are quite easy to learn and understand, implementing a winning strategy will take a calculated approach.  In this worker displacement game, you score by carefully maneuvering the Five Tribes of Meeples over the tiles that make up the ancient city-state of the Sultanate of Naqala. You need to look ahead to determine what moves will not only position you to score well, but put your opponents at a disadvantage. It’s when, how and where you dis-place the Five Tribes of Assassins, Elders, Builders, Merchants & Viziers that will determine your victory or failure!

If you’re interested in this game you can get your ticket here: Five Tribes with Expansion

There’s Sunday Morning. If you’re one of the brave willing to get up that early for a game we wanted to make sure you knew what some of the offerings were. For more games check out the full schedule.
