Looking for More Events

Hey folks. A couple of things. We’re looking for more events and I’m not sure if you’re aware but half of our gaming space is open until 3 am on Friday and Saturday. Because of that we’re opening up event submission again until June 23rd but we’re looking for specific things:

  • Board and Card Games, especially anything new or novel.
  • Non D&D RPGs.

We’re also all full up during certain times so any events submitted need to start at or before 5 pm or at or after 10 pm on Friday and Saturday and any time Sunday.

To entice you a little further.  If you run games that 48 people hours have been registered for by July 4th we will refund your badge. So what does that mean? Here’s a couple of examples:

  • You’re facilitating 3 games for 4 hours each of 3 people sign up for one, 4 people sign up for another, and 5 people sign up for the 3rd. That 4×3 for 12, 4×4 for 16, and 5×4 for 20. That’s a total of 48 hours.
  • If you’re facilitating a game of werewolf for 12 people for 1 hour and running a board game of Terraforming Mars for 5 people for 2 hours then it’s total of 22 hours, 12 hours for werewolf and 10 hours for Terraforming Mars. This person would need 26 more people hours.

So there you have it. Get your games in. If you have games talk about them with your friends and your online communities. We’ll help too and make the QCC an even better gaming experience for everyone.

Submit Events Here

Note. People hours is not a technical term. It is a made up term but it seemed like the right kind of words to put together. Feel free to make fun of people hours or come up with a better term.

Facilitator Guidelines

GMs have the option to run events as a bystander or play in their own event. If the event sells out and the GM has not purchased a ticket to reserve their seat they are expected to participate as a GM only.

As a GM you agree to tidy your event space before you leave and to vacate it in advance of the next event so they may set up.

We use safety tools at all our tables. If you don’t want to use at least the X-Card and Lines and Veils at the convention then please don’t submit games. You can read about safety tools here.

We had more events than we could fill last year so not all events may be accepted. To increase the chance of your event being accepted we encourage you to list more than one time you can run your event.

Facilitators of 8 or more hours of events will be given a facilitators reward.

Thank you for running events at the Queen City Conquest.

“QCC was so much fun! The community of players seemed to really appreciate lots of fun roleplay along with their combat, which is always a blast for me. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve had as a guest at a con. Also the local food… Omg.”

If you are not sure what Queen City Conquest is all about here is a good sample of what you can expect.

Exploring Western New York

The city of Buffalo has had a large resurgence due to both public and private investments. This year we’ve moved the convention to the middle of summer to avoid any possibilities of snow and to give you folks the chance to not only experience the Queen City Conquest but the wonderful city and the surroundings.

Buffalo’s summer is also Buffalo festival season. You can’t go a weekend without a festival, concert series or event happening morning noon or night. If you go to you’ll discover everything happening in and around the city during the time surrounding the QCC. If you’re still here let’s give you a few places you might want to start.

Located on Buffalo’s waterfront, Canalside is a great outdoor location to play and enjoy everything from kayaking and water biking – which you can rent – to live music and lovely walks on the water.

Are you a foodie? Yes, Buffalo is well known for wings. If you’re a true wing connoisseur we have something called the Wing Trail. Have you tried  Loganberry soda? Sponge candy? Paula’s Donuts? Lloyds Tacos truck? Lake Effect Ice Cream? A Roast Beef On Weck?

Aside from those few items there are a number of other amazing restaurants and food trucks. To top it all off the Taste of Buffalo is the same weekend as the convention. There may be jaunt to the 2nd largest “Taste of” in the United States.

Niagara Falls

The Falls are less than 30 minutes north of Buffalo. There, you can experience the amazing view of Niagara Falls. Maybe you’d like to stalk your way through the Cave of the Winds or take a ride up to the falls on the Maid of the Mist and feel the power of millions of gallons of falling water. These adventures could be great inspiration for a future game or just an enjoyable experience. On the Canadian side of the Falls is Clifton Hill. If you like the experience of a New Jersey styled boardwalk or the arcades of old then you’ll find plenty of places to have fun when you visit.

Like many great cities exploring Buffalo is an experience. From our unique architecture – Frank Lloyd Wright anyone – to our unique independent music scene there is something for everyone to love Western New York.

New Location & Dates

Hey folks. Just wanted to let you know we have a new location this year and new dates.

We will be at Daemen College. The facility is quite lovely and has allowed us to reduce some of our cost which we’re passing on to you.

The convention is going to be from July 12th to the 14th.

30 Day Sale

In the coming days we’ll be having more details for you and we want you to know we won’t be having a kickstarter but we will be having a 30 day sale and if we sell enough badges during the sale we’ll be able to open up some interesting events and possibly some more guests for this years convention. We’ll be having our sale starting in February and rolling into March.

Local Gaming Events

We have a stocking stuffer game night at Iron Buffalo on Thursday, December 20th from 7 pm till close. We encourage you to come out, drink some coffee or hot coco, and play your favorite games that could fit in a stocking.

Iron Buffalo is located at  656 Millersport Hwy. Amherst, NY 14226

We also have the following events coming up:

Black Friday Sale

Hey Folks. It’s time for the Black Friday Sale for the QCC. We’re opening up our store for the lowest prices for 3 day badges and our VIP Badges.

Black Friday Sale

With that said, we want you to be aware that the convention has moved to July 12th – July 14th and will be at Daemen College this year. It’s allowed us to reduce our costs and provide more value to you. We can’t wait to see you in July and thank you for supporting the convention and being a part of our community.
